Foundations of Virtual Production Workshop

The VP fundamental course strive to guide participants to the possibility of using Virtual Production to create any types of videos production. Aux Media Group had been using VP as part of our production, from live streaming to music videos to short film production.

These 3 days course will provide participants not just with the knowledge of Virtual Production, but also give an opportunity for participants to have hands-on experience of using VP. From understanding the backend hardware setup, content creation and actual demonstration of using VP.

At the end of the course, participants will have a deeper appreciation of how VP can improve your content / production, bringing to life many stories.

The trainers from Aux Media group have been using VP for the last 4 years, from hardware setup to post-production, the 5 trainers will bring not just the technical know-how but also real life examples of how VP can be used for various types of production.

  • Nicholas Tan – Head, Partnership & BD (VP)
    • Nicholas brings over two decades of experience in advertising, marketing, sales, and events management to the table. With a keen eye for identifying new clients and brands with immense new business potential, he is responsible for creating new, unique spectacular shows and immersive experiences. Nicholas expertly defines clients’ strategies, working closely with them from start to finish to ensure the successful execution of every project.
  • Anthony Levi Kho – Head, Studio Production
    • Anthony is a versatile and accomplished professional, serving as a VP supervisor, TV commercial director, and award-winning celebrity photographer. With a portfolio that boasts collaborations with major brands such as Longines, Nike, and Sony, he is not only versed in videography and has excelled in a variety of roles including executive producer and creative director. Anthony is a true believer in embracing change and taking on challenges head-on, adapting to new ways of working, from traditional to VP, with ease and expertise.
  • Chris Yan – Brain Bar Supervisor
    • Chris has been sharpening his expertise in 3D visualisation, game development, video editing, green screen and LED virtual production since 2019. He has successfully guided teams through various VP endeavours such as Star Awards 2022, OCBC Entrepreneurship and Tiger Tally. Through his creativity, Chris has also developed an indie game along with a series of captivating commercial clips utilising software like Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Abraham Chew – Brain Bar Supervisor
    • Abraham has been honing his artistic skills for four years through diligent study and practical experience. He worked on his very first film whilst working in an animation company for over a year and has also contributed to several titles for CNA by seamlessly integrating greenscreen technology with Unreal Engine. Since joining AUX, Abraham has been immersing himself in the world of VP, mastering everything from software comprehension, troubleshooting technical issues to signal and network cable patching. Abraham recognizes VP as the future of media experiences and is eager to see what new innovations and opportunities lie ahead.

Course Overview

  • Day 1
    • Introduction to Aux Studios
    • WSG – Talks (20 mins)
    • Introduction to VP
      • History and case studies of VP use locally and globally.
    • Types of VP in Aux Studios
    • Understanding VP workflow 1 (overview + Pre-Production)
  • Day 2
    • Understanding VP Tech (backend hardware setup + camera setup)
    • Understanding VP workflow 2 (Virtual Art Dept + UE + Testing Phase)
    • Understanding VP workflow 3 (Project Planning)
    • ICVFX vs XR
  • Day 3
    • Demo walk through (assets, stories, shoot setup) – 1st half of the day.
    • Actual shoot (2nd half of the day)
      • All participants will get a copy of their produced video.

Course Fee
The course is supported by WSG to provide more opportunities for any Singaporean who are keen to learn more about Virtual Production. Participants will not have to any pre-requisite knowledge of production or Unreal engine to be part of this course; we welcome anyone who is keen to learn or adopt VP within their production pipeline.
